2024 WRAP UP- A YEAR IN REVIEW -- Tuesday January 14th, 2025 Another year of hard work in the world of animal rescue. Have you ever wondered what it's like behind the scenes of a 100% volunteer animal rescue? Well, here at Hart 2 Heart, it is busy! We have no paid employees and everything that we do is completed by our volunteers and our wonderful donors!
First and most importantly, we work to find the animals we take in their furever homes! Did you know that in 2024, we took in 346 cats! At any given time, we have over 100 cats in the rescue between our wonderful fosters and our four partner pet stores. But we also found homes for 287 of those animals in 2024, which was an increase from 2023! We spayed/neutered 196 animals that came into our care. More than half of our intake last year! But this will help reduce the cycle of pet overpopulation, as well as let those animals live long, healthy lives!
Last year, our volunteers spent over 14,000 hours of their own time, dedicated to the rescue. That is trapping, transporting, vetting, events, meetings, processing paperwork, applications, behind the scenes, social media, and pet store volunteers!
