Jasper Our family’s Hart 2 Heart Animal Rescue story began after our cat Kansas passed away unexpectedly from liver failure. A rescue kitty himself, Kansas brought so much joy to our home. What better way to honor his memory than to give another rescue kitty (or kitties) a fur-ever home? We cast out a wide net. We scrolled through different rescue websites. We reached out to friends who’d rescued kitties in the past. Nothing seemed to pan out. Then, we came across the Hart 2 Heart. My oldest daughter gets credit for finding Hart 2 Heart. She could have spent all day scrolling through the pictures of their adoptable kittens. I know. She forwarded a ton of the site’s pictures to me. But the instant I landed on a picture of Jasper and Pearl, I knew they were the ones. With their white and grey striped coats, they were the spitting image of Kansas! But we didn’t choose them right away. For some reason, we got it stuck in our heads that we’d adopt a calico next, and we’d already submitted an application for two kittens who fit the bill. When we learned they’d already been adopted, I immediately thought of Jasper and Pearl. I crossed my fingers and asked if they were available instead. I was overjoyed to learn that yes, Jasper and Pearl were still available! This time, I didn’t hesitate. I told our Hart to Heart liaison Jackie that we wanted them. Fast forward to a few weeks later when we officially welcomed Jasper and Pearl to our family. Pearl and Jasper have definitely settled into their new environment. They love teasing their dog-brothers Hamlet and George, tormenting their cat-brother Arthur, cuddling with us (and each other), birdwatching through the windows, playing with their toys, and making biscuits. Lots and lots of biscuits! They make us laugh every single day. More importantly, they keep Kansas’s memory alive. I can’t imagine life without Jasper and Pearl, and I’m happy we were able to give them a fur-ever home. And I’m so grateful to everyone at Hart 2 Heart for bringing Jasper and Pearl into our lives.
Bandit Bandit became a part of our family on September 4th. My dad, sister, and I had gone over to the lady who was fostering him to pick him up. We brought our other cat, Rocket, and they started hissing at each other immediately, but it didn’t take long for them to warm up to each other. Currently they play like John Cena is taking on Randy Orton (reference to WWE wrestling), while also chasing each other. Bandit is currently living his best life, cuddling up with our family. -Ethan Havay (age 12) Bandit loves to play with Rocket but he also loves his laser pointer sometimes we will grab his laser pointer and just play with him until he’s bored. We will also pick him up and hold him until he jumps out of our arms. I am very happy that Bandit became part of our family, and so is Rocket. At night time Bandit and Rocket will run in and out of our bedrooms and sometimes keep us up at night, but it doesn’t bother us. At night time Bandit will jump up in my bed and lay next to me. We love our cats! -Bethany Havay (age 9)
Natalie We started out looking for a young calico because we recently lost a wonderful calico girl. I looked at multiple rescue sites for weeks. Only a few cats seemed to look back at me. Natalie’s story got my attention and I asked to meet her. Because she was too afraid to come out to meet us at her foster home, we fostered-to-adopt this sweet little tuxedo cat. Nattie hid for two days - no food, water, litterbox. Little by little she is adjusting. She’s slowly exploring the house. She plays. She purrs. She chased her tail! She makes me laugh. I’m happy to have her and I believe she’s happy too.
Amber We are so happy that you asked if we could take both Amber and Opal. Seeing them together is heart warming. I can't imagine how sad they would have been if they were split up. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
