Lindsey We had Cheeto and Chet since 2004 and adopted Tony from Hart 2 Heart in 2018. We had to put Chet down in May 2021 which was crushing for our whole family. We knew Cheeto wouldn't be far behind. Cheeto was, obviously, an orange guy. The stereotypical special orange guy. For the longest time my wife insisted we had to get another orange guy for Cheeto to show the ways of being orange. As silly as that sounds, orange cat owners know what we're talking about. Anyway, over months we would see orange cats on Hart 2 Heart's page but timing was never right. Then we saw Morris in January 2022 and we knew we had to look. We went down and there he was laying in the same position Cheeto always laid. It was a done deal the second we laid eyes on him. As we were contacting Sharon and trying to get store assistance we were looking at the other cats and there was Lindsey. Fourteen years old, she melted our hearts. Then Sharon told us her story (or what she knew). We felt like no one would want a frightened fourteen year old cat and it just broke us into tears. So we came home with two cats that day. It did our hearts right to give them both a home, especially Lindsey. Then five months later Tony got sick and we put him down on 6/13. Cheeto followed three weeks later on 7/2. To say this house was devastated would be an understatement. We knew Cheeto wasn't long for the world but poor Tony got sick and deteriorated in less than a month. It was awful. We say all the time that we don't know what we would've done without Morris and Lindsey. The amount of tears that have been shed were much easier to dry with those two. It's the old cliche, we rescued them but in the end they have rescued us. For real. Thank you Hart 2 Heart for bringing so much love and joy to our house.

Paula In October of 2022, I was approached by H2H to take a feral cat. They told me that she had been born outside by a Wawa and been there quite a while. She had gone through some trauma. I was told she was “caught” and taken to a foster home. Unfortunately, the foster home was not ideal, and they needed a new foster. It took a couple of weeks to firm up the plans. They never told me her name. When I finally asked. I was told it was “Paula”. I laughed very hard. I said yes and Paula came into my home. She had to stay in my spare room by herself. (I got her a night light) I was told AT LEAST a couple weeks. I laughed and said “yea, it will take me a day to socialize her”. Nope. It took Paula 3 weeks to come out from under the bed. She would definitely come out at night and eat but would not let me see her. I started to take it personally. Lol. She was in the spare room for about two months before she would venture out into the house. Very slowly, Paula started to let me at least see her. Then walk past her. Eventually, I could pet her, but NOT HER HEAD. Lol. I was slowly falling in love. My other two cats, Zoey and Ollie, were not thrilled, but they tolerated our new houseguest. Paula gradually learned how to trust and accept love. Paula taught me the beauty of patience, trust, and love. We had an opportunity to have her adopted out and I was ready to do the meet and greet when I just started to cry. I could not give Paula up. She had become such an important part of our home. Watching her go from a frightened, lonely, skittish cat to a little beauty who wouldn’t leave my side was such a thing of beauty. I am so happy Paula is now part of our home. She’s the best. Thank you, Hart 2 Heart.
Emily Early in 2022 we lost both of our beloved rescue cats. One of our cats was old and had been sick for a while, but our younger cat succumbed to heart failure very suddenly. We were simply devastated when they died within a month of each other. I thought I’d be the first one to start looking for new fur babies, but it was actually my husband who couldn’t bear working from home without feline companions. Upon hearing this, I started looking at available cats at local rescues and on Petfinder.com. We really wanted to open our home to a bonded pair and we soon found Camille and Emily. I wasn’t familiar with Hart2Heart since we live just south of King of Prussia, but we began the adoption process and started to get excited about bringing home “the girls.” On the day after my husband’s birthday, we made the 45 minute drive to the home where “Cami and Emmy” were being fostered. Neither of the girls were thrilled about getting into their carriers or the drive home, but we made it and sequestered them in the master bedroom. That first night they made their way out from under the bed, vocalizing and rolling. We were in love! Cami and Emmy now run the house; running, playing with catnip mice and vocalizing for treats. We appreciate their unique personalities and different ways of showing affection. They are the perfect fit for us and we couldn’t be happier.
