Princess (B&W) Princess is a part of the family we didn't know we were missing. She has such a sweet personality, but she also shows the dogs she is boss. She loves to snuggle with us humans, one of the dogs or the older cat. We keep her name Princess because she truly is one, but we added Coconut to her name. Because of her white fur and her crazy personality. Thanks for picking us to be Princess’ family.
Willow Nearly 18 years ago when my brother and I were younger, our parents decided to adopt the most beautiful cat in the world- Mia from the Pet Smart in Warminster. Mia lived the happiest life a cat could live with us and brought us the most joy we could have every imagined for 17 years and 9 months. She was the most beautiful and perfect cat I could have ever asked for, most importantly, she was my best friend who I had for basically all of my life. We had to put Mia down unexpectedly due to old age. I was and still am, heartbroken from losing my best friend. A little while later, my family and I went to the same Pet Smart that we had adopted Mia from almost 18 years ago when I was two. We saw Willow and instantly all smiled. The very nice volunteer Nancy let us come in right away after she fed all the cats. Nancy is a very pleasant, sweet, and very caring person. All the cats there were so beautiful, we knew something was special about Willow though. As my family and I talked to Nancy about how the adoption process works, Willow winked at us from the window seat he was on! I immediately rushed to fill out the adoption papers and thought about him everyday and how happy we would be to have him. The wonderful and extremely helpful woman named Jackie texted us throughout the adoption process. We were so eager to get Willow that we wanted to take him home as soon as possible. Together, Jackie and Nancy made it so we could pick up Willow as soon as Pet Smart opened on Mother’s day; only four days after we saw him and filled out the adoption application. Willow hid and did not really come out for the first few weeks except to eat, drink, and use the bathroom…but he did come out and scope out the whole house including the kitchen and counters while we were asleep! Haha. He then, towards the end of the second week, came out while my family and I were eating, and then I went to sit on the floor to pet and comfort him, and he climbed right on my lap, and we were instantly bonded and connected. We are becoming better friends each day and we are so happy to have him. Willow is such an amazing, kind, beautiful, playful, and loving boy. He is getting more comfortable each day and is almost always by my side! Willow has a big appetite and loves to be held and brushed and loves to play with all his toys. He also loves catnip of course. Willow also loves to look outside and watch the birds on the window sill. He loves to help us cook, watch t.v., and just chill by our sides. We are so thankful to have Willow with us now, he is apart of our family and we couldn’t be happier. This adoption process could not have been more perfect and easy for us. I learned through this process, that a lot of the people who help you adopt, maybe even all, are volunteers. They were all so nice, helpful, down to earth, and quick. I recommend and will continue to recommend Hart 2 Heart adoption to everybody who has the capability, love, money, and time to give to the animals. This is now the second time that we had a successful adoption and we could not be happier. Thank you Hart 2 Heart. â¤ï¸
Leo Leo (formally named Toby) is a H2H rescue kitty. We adopted him in August of 2018. Our home wouldn't be the same without him. He has a big personality and we absolutely love him for all of his quirks. He is our snuggle bug and our 2 other cats also adore him. I feel so lucky we ended up with Leo. Here's how we ended up for Mr. Leo: In 2018, my husband and I bought our first home. We brought with us our 2 rescue kitties, Gray Bear and Monkey. My friend rescued them from the ACCT at just a week old. They needed to be bottle-fed around the clock and needed a foster ASAP or would be euthanized. My friend stepped up. Unfortunately my friend's cat did not take to the 2 little cute kittens. Which is how we ended up fostering them. Evidently, it was a big foster fail for us. Anyway, before moving to our first house, my husband and I lived with my parents, the 2 cats (GB and Monk), and their 2 dogs. Gray Bear and Monkey LOVED the dogs. When we moved, we quickly noticed Gray Bear went into a depressed state. He is a very social cat, whereas Monkey is very sweet but more of a loner. We knew we had to do something to cheer our boy up. Growing up, my family had an orange cat named Buzzy. He was a dream cat. Boss of the neighborhood and sweetheart to our family. Buzzy was a part of my life from 4th grade until his last days when I was in my mid-twenties. I was devastated when we lost Buzzy and vowed to rescue another orange cat of my own. And this is how we ended up with Leo... it started with a trip to Pet Valu to pick up cat food, to then getting smacked by an orange paw reaching out of the rescue cat crate, to us falling in love. I will never forget how inquisitive and rambunctious he was in his crate. When I met him, I just knew he would be the perfect addition to our little family. I will never forget, the woman who ran the Spring House Pet Valu could tell that we would be a good fit and quickly passed our application along to Sharon. While we waited for approval, I went away for the weekend with my mom and sister while my husband stayed at home with Gray Bear and Monkey. He told me he would be prepping around the house in case we were approved for the little orange kitten from Pet Valu. I had no idea while I was away that Sharon called my husband and told him that he could come and pick up Leo. My husband surprised me by picking Leo up while I was away. He recounts the first moments Leo walked into our house as this.... Leo knew he was home. He acted as if he lived there all along. My husband had friends over for a game night and the entire time Leo tried to sit on everyone's laps and be the center of attention. The next day, I returned and found a cute little kitten greeting me at the front door. He still does this to this day. We call him our little cat-dog. That evening, Leo fell asleep in my arms, craddled like a baby and I knew it was all meant to be. It only took a few days before our two other cats were snuggled up with Leo. Leo being the faciliator of all cuddles with both. Gray Bear's days of depression were immediately over and he had a new friend to play with. Leo thinks my husband is the best human ever and I still think remembers dad bringing him home that day. Leo's favorite hobbies are bringing us pineapple toys (we have 5 toys that are all exactly the same - pineapples - and he treats them like prizes as if he killed a bird and brought it to us), chattering to us, stealing broccoli, cuddling non-stop, wrestling his cat brothers, grooming all cats and humans in our home, playing "smack attack" with his paw that pops out in all locations he can hide, sunbathing, and chasing our dog. He is a spunky guy with a HUGE personality. He makes life so much fun and our home whole. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for picking us to adopt Leo
Peachy I had been fostering for Hart 2 Heart and had cared for 5 or 6 kitties over a year or so. In the fall of 2019, Cissy came my way. A very sweet, gray and white cat; I’m not even sure what her back story was, but now she was under my care. She had very sore teeth, as can be common with street cats. At first, I had to chop up even her canned food, I heated it up, and she sat on my lap as she ate from the dining room table. It was the only way I could get her to eat. We scheduled dental surgery and had several of her worst teeth removed. What a difference! She could eat freely. This was all happening during the height of the pandemic, and adoptions were initially at a low, do I decided I would keep this little one. Before long, her mouth pain came back. She would start to eat and then suddenly shriek in pain and run away when some food hit a bad tooth. So, we scheduled another dental surgery, and that did the trick! What is most strange to me is that now that she can eat without pain, she almost always goes for the dry food, even with only a very few teeth left. Because of Cissy’s bravery through all this, I wanted to rename her (she is no cissy!) I would always tell her she was such a Pretty Girl, then I shortened it to PG, which morphed into Peachy. Today Peachy is a sweet and happy companion.
Oliver I never had cats as pets before. I learned through the Rescue that there was a gray cat that needed a place to stay for a week. Oliver was delivered with some dire warnings about bad behavior, expected mayhem and destruction. What had I gotten myself into?
But, Oliver did not ruin my curtains, rip up my furniture, or even attack me. The warnings were completely unfounded. Oliver quickly made himself at home and settled in. He sleeps on the bed, in baskets, and on my husband's shoes. He is friendly to visitors. He does value his alone time and has a healthy appetite. He is my first "foster fail" but not my last.
